The author of The Pigman is Paul Zindel. This man has written many plays and books and majored in chemistry. Some books he has written include The Pigman & Me, The Gadget, and My Darling, My hamburger. A list of plays he has written include Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild, Amulet Against Dragon Forces, and The Affect of Gamma Rays On Man-In-The-Moon Marigolds.
I think Paul Zindel wrote this book because he may have had a real life Pigman. He may have had the urge to write down a story, or maybe this came out of a brain storm. It also might have been something he had thought about for a long time.
I think your right about Paul maybe having a real life Pigman. He probably based most of his characters off of his friends personalities. Way to tie in your opinion with facts!

ReplyDeleteIt's definitely an interesting theory to think that Paul Zindel could have possibly based the character of Mr. Pignati off of someone that he had known. Even I personally have met a lot of people who fit the same archetype as him, and because of that it made me think a little bit deeper about his character (even if none of the characters had any real specific development).
