Paul Zindel was an american playwright, young adult novelist, and educator. He has written plays to make it on Broadway, in 1970, and 1972. His successful play even get made into a movie in 1973 by 20th Century Fox. He has also written a total of 53 books. Every book, except for one, is aimed towards teens and children. He would always write about real stuff that's happening, which is what got some books band. His book, "My Darling My Hamburger dealed with abuse at home and teen sexuality.
Other books sometimes he would contain teen pregnancy, abortion, language, and sexual themes in them. "The Pigman" deals with love and finding new friends. I think Paul Zindel wrote about these tough subjects and made them real in his books, because he knows what teen life is like today. I admire his ability to put it to a story that is so close to how a real teens life would be. I think the characters in the books he has published have the ability to speak to young teens today.
I like how you were specific you used evidence like dates. You also explained what each book was about so that was good. I agree with you on the ability to speak to teens.
ReplyDeleteI thing you did a really good as to explain his talent in play writing. You have a very interesting reason to why he wrote The Pigman. But I would have to disagree on the reasoning. The book was published in 1968, making hard to be the exact problems people have today. You did very well
