I, like my other group members found it that Lorraine was weak, and there are lots of reasons. Her character never does anything on her own, or make bold decisions. Her character was weak at the beginning and never got any better. Lorraine didn't have any point other than just being another pointless entity in the book.
Another thing my group and I got similar was that John was a relatively strong character. John seemed like the type (pun intended) that stayed on his own and was always cold and tough on the outside. The highschool drinker also seemed like he had shaped this way by how he had a rough life in his family. He seemed to spend more time and be more tentative to Lorraine and The Pigman.
Mr. Pignati or Pigman seemed to be a bit controversial to our group. Others said he was weak while I put him neutrally because he didn't have a lot to be strong or weak about. He was just there to go to the zoo with the others and have a heart attack and stuff. I guess he was relatively weak but to me he just seemed like a constantly cheery guy who was very bland.

John is definitely a stronger character than Lorraine. I like to listen and read from John's perspective more, because he is interesting, but that's just my opinion. So I can see why you chose John as strong and Lorraine as weak.
