One of his plays called The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds earned him the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The Pigman won 6 awards, which made Zindel very well-known. He got inspired to write the book because when he was younger he had an adult he referred to as his "Pigman". His "Pigman" had taught him a lot just like Mr.Pignati had cared and taught John and Lorraine many things. His "Pigman" was named Nonno Frankie. I think that Jophn and Lorraine were kids like Paul in real life. What I mean is that Paul was John and he had a friend that stuck by his side just like Lorraine did. The author had many things happen to him just like John and Lorraine did.
